The Esther Foundation

2025 Annual Report

Building Foundations. Restoring Hope. Transforming Futures.

Executive Summary

A Year of Building Foundations

The year 2025 marked the beginning of an ambitious journey for The Esther Foundation (TEF). Established with a vision to see every child loved, equipped, and thriving, our inaugural year was dedicated to laying the foundations for lasting impact through education, community transformation, and faith-based mentorship.

What began as a vision quickly became a movement. Across three states in Nigeria, we worked alongside schools, volunteers, families, and community leaders to remove barriers to education, restore hope to vulnerable children, strengthen communities, and inspire young people to live purposeful lives.

In just one year, 70+ children remained in school through scholarship support, more than 2,000 students were equipped through leadership and motivational engagements, over 100 individuals benefited from community outreach initiatives, and 20 volunteers developed leadership, communication, and service skills while contributing to our mission.

While these numbers represent meaningful milestones, they tell only part of the story. Behind every statistic is a child who stayed in school, a family that found hope, a volunteer who discovered purpose, and a community taking one step closer toward lasting transformation.

A Vision Born From Hope

"Africa's future will be shaped by the opportunities we create for today's children."

Millions of children continue to face barriers to education because of poverty, displacement, insecurity, and unequal access to quality learning opportunities. For many, remaining in school requires more than determination; it requires support, community, and people choosing to invest in their future.

The Esther Foundation was established to respond to that need.

We believe education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty. Yet education alone is not enough. Lasting transformation also requires compassionate communities, ethical leadership, and young people grounded in purpose and integrity.

This conviction became the foundation upon which TEF was built.

Our Integrated Approach

One Ecosystem, Not Isolated Projects

Our work is delivered through an interconnected ecosystem rather than isolated projects, reflecting our commitment to developing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.

Pillar One

Equipping by Education

We expand access to education, scholarships, digital literacy, leadership development, and learning opportunities for vulnerable children.

Pillar Two

Esther's Heart

We respond to humanitarian needs by strengthening communities, supporting vulnerable families, engaging orphanages and care institutions, and preparing to expand our work among internally displaced children.

2025 By The Numbers

Investing in Children and Communities

2025 produced encouraging outcomes that reinforce the importance of investing in children and communities.

80+

Children Remained in School

Education remained at the heart of our mission. Through TEF's scholarship programme, 80+ students returned to school and successfully progressed to the next academic level. Every scholarship represented more than financial assistance—it represented renewed hope, uninterrupted learning, and a future protected from the consequences of educational exclusion.

2,000+

Students Inspired

Across schools and communities, more than 2,000 students participated in inspirational sessions focused on leadership, purpose, discipline, resilience, and personal development. These engagements challenged young people to rise above peer pressure, embrace self-worth, cultivate discipline, and recognize their responsibility in shaping the future of their communities and nation. Rather than simply preparing students for examinations, we sought to prepare them for life.

100

Lives Touched Through Community Outreach

Compassion remains central to our mission. Throughout the year, more than 100 individuals received practical support through community outreach initiatives designed to restore dignity and strengthen vulnerable families. Whether responding to immediate needs or encouraging communities through acts of generosity and care, each outreach reminded us that transformation begins when people choose compassion.

20

Volunteers Developing Into Leaders

The impact of TEF extends beyond those we directly serve. Twenty volunteers became active participants in our mission while receiving mentorship in leadership, communication, public speaking, teamwork, and service. Many also benefited from scholarship support themselves, demonstrating our belief that those who serve communities should also be equipped to grow personally and professionally.

They are not simply volunteers.
They are future leaders carrying the mission forward.

Stories Behind the Numbers

Statistics tell us how many lives were reached.
Stories remind us why the work matters.

One young scholar shared how her father sat her down to explain that he could no longer afford her school fees and that she might have to leave school. That conversation nearly ended her educational journey.

Through TEF's intervention, she remained in school. With tears in her eyes, she described how hope returned because someone believed in her future.

Stories like hers remind us that scholarships do more than pay school fees. They preserve dreams.

Across our school engagements, students openly shared the pressures they face—from peer influence and loss of focus to uncertainty about their future. By creating safe spaces for honest conversations and practical mentorship, we encouraged young people to embrace purpose, discipline, and integrity as the foundation for lasting success.

Strengthening Communities

Beyond the Classroom

Our work extends beyond classrooms. During the year, community initiatives brought practical support to vulnerable individuals and families, including outreach programmes in Benin and humanitarian engagements that demonstrated compassion through tangible action.

One memorable initiative, the Esther Benin Children's Feast, brought together more than 500 children for a celebration that provided nourishment, joy, and a powerful reminder that every child deserves dignity, care, and belonging.

Meanwhile, preparations began for larger initiatives that will shape the Foundation's future impact. Construction efforts commenced to restore Ebenezer Secondary School in Apir, Benue State, while plans advanced for a boarding school designed to provide stable learning opportunities for internally displaced children.

These projects represent long-term investments in educational access and community resilience.

Partnership for Greater Impact

Transformation Cannot Be Achieved in Isolation

Throughout 2025, TEF collaborated with five partner schools while building relationships with educators, volunteers, community leaders, and supporters who share our vision for Africa's next generation.

These partnerships have enabled us to extend our reach, strengthen programme delivery, and lay the groundwork for future expansion.

Looking Ahead

Our First Year Was Never the Destination

It was designed to establish our foundation. As we move forward, we remain committed to expanding scholarship opportunities, strengthening school partnerships, advancing digital inclusion, restoring educational infrastructure, supporting displaced children, and equipping young people with the leadership and character needed to transform their communities.

Our long-term vision is clear.

100,000

By 2035, The Esther Foundation aims to empower 100,000 children and young people across Africa through education, leadership development, community transformation, and faith-based mentorship—while creating sustainable learning environments for vulnerable communities.

A Message of Gratitude

Thank You

Every child reached, every family encouraged, every volunteer equipped, and every community strengthened was made possible through the generosity, commitment, and shared belief of people who chose to invest in hope.

To our volunteers, school partners, supporters, and every individual who believed in this vision from the beginning— thank you.

Together, we have begun building something far greater than programmes.
We are building futures.
And this is only the beginning.
